PgcDemux is a free tool used to fix DVD authoring errors by breaking a DVD down into its raw video, audio, and subtitle parts.

When a DVD menu skips, freezes, or plays out of order, the internal navigation files (IFO and VOB) are usually corrupted. Demuxing separates these components so you can cleanly re-author the DVD from scratch without quality loss. How to Fix DVD Errors Using PgcDemux

Rip the DVD: Copy the VIDEO_TS folder from your disc to your hard drive. Open PgcDemux: Launch the application.

Input IFO: Click Browse next to Input IFO and select the main IFO file (usually VTS_01_0.IFO).

Output Folder: Select an empty destination folder for your extracted files.

Select PGC: Choose the specific Program Chain (PGC) you want to fix from the dropdown menu.

Check Options: Ensure Demux Video, Demux all audio streams, and Demux all subpics are selected.

Process: Click Process to extract the raw video (.m2v), audio (.ac3 or .wav), and subtitles (.sup). Re-Authoring the Clean Files

Once extraction is complete, you must rebuild the DVD using an authoring tool like Muxman or IFOEdit. Open your authoring software. Insert the raw .m2v video file.

Match the extracted audio and subtitle tracks to the timeline.

Add the original cell times text file (created by PgcDemux) to restore your original chapter markers.

Click Generate to create a brand-new, error-free VIDEO_TS folder structure.
